India wicketkeeper Ishan Kishan had a brief fumble but still pulled off the stumping to dismiss USA batter Milind Kumar in a rather unusual manner. The incident took place during Match 3 of the 2026 T20 World Cup on Saturday, February 7, at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.

The dismissal came off the last delivery of the 12th over of the USA innings. Varun Chakaravarthy sent down a googly outside the off stump, completely deceiving Milind. Unsure of where the ball had gone, the right-hander stepped out of his crease in search of a run.

Kishan, despite initially misjudging the take, recovered quickly and removed the bails to complete the stumping. You can watch the video here:

He made 34 off 34 deliveries, striking three boundaries and one six. Milind’s wicket reduced USA to 71/4 at the end of 12 overs.

USA Stumble In Chase As India Take Six Wickets

Pursuing a target of 162, the USA got off to a poor start as Andries Gous was dismissed for six in the second over by Mohammed Siraj. Arshdeep Singh then struck in the third over, sending USA captain Monank Patel back for a two-ball duck. Siraj followed it up by removing Saiteja Mukkamalla for two in his next over, leaving the USA three down within the first four overs.

Milind Kumar and Sanjay Krishnamurthi attempted to steady the innings with a 58-run stand off 52 deliveries for the fourth wicket, before Milind was dismissed for 34 in the 12th over. Axar Patel tightened India’s grip in the 16th over by picking up the wickets of Sanjay (37) and Harmeet Singh (0).

At the time of writing, the USA were 100/6 after 16 overs, with Shubham Ranjane (15) and Mohammad Mohsin (1) in the middle. Earlier, India posted 161/9 in their allotted 20 overs, led by captain Suryakumar Yadav’s unbeaten 84 off 49 balls, an innings laced with 10 boundaries and four sixes.
