New Zealand Cricket (NZC) has announced a strong squad for the upcoming away Test series against Ireland and England. The national team will receive players from the New Zealand IPL who played in India during the 2026 season.

The announcement revealed that selectors had strengthened the pace attack through the selection of main fast bowlers Kyle Jamieson and Will O’Rourke. The New Zealand team that played West Indies at home in December last year had to do without both pacers.

Williamson, Jamieson among IPL stars set for national duty:

NZC announced a 19-member squad on May 6 for the upcoming Test tours of Ireland and England. Tom Latham will continue as captain on both tours, with returning pacers Kyle Jamieson and Will O’Rourke joining him.

Jamieson is currently in India as part of the Delhi Capitals squad for IPL 2026. The Gujarat Titans have acquired Glenn Phillips for their current season. The former New Zealand captain and batting legend Kane Williamson is currently present in India because he works as Strategic Advisor for Lucknow Super Giants.

The two players Daryl Mitchell and Ben Sears were performing their T20 obligations during the Pakistan Super League 2026 season which took place in Pakistan.
