Kuldeep Yadav delivered an early breakthrough by removing Shai Hope on Day 3 of the second Test between India and the West Indies at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi on Sunday, October 12. Hope was dismissed for 36 off 57 balls, leaving the visitors struggling at 156/5. The wicket fell in the 50th over of the innings, which was also the seventh over of the morning session.

The left-arm wrist-spinner tossed up a teasing delivery that drifted away after pitching. Hope stepped forward to defend, anticipating the ball to turn into him. However, it went past the outside edge and clipped the top of the off-stump, dislodging the bails. This dismissal handed India their first breakthrough of the day, courtesy of Kuldeep’s clever variation.
