Kuldeep Yadav claimed the wicket of a well-set Rachin Ravindra during the second T20I between India and New Zealand in Raipur on Friday, January 23. The left-arm wrist-spinner dismissed Ravindra for 44 off 26 balls, which included four sixes and two boundaries, reducing New Zealand to 129/5.

The dismissal came in the 13th over of the innings. Kuldeep floated a wide delivery outside off stump, tempting Ravindra to reach for it. The left-hander attempted a lofted shot over the 30-yard circle on the off-side but ended up slicing it behind to Arshdeep Singh at short third man, who held on to a sharp low catch.

Double Blow By Kuldeep Yadav Helps India Assert Dominance Over New Zealand

Kuldeep Yadav claimed two crucial wickets as India asserted control over New Zealand in the second T20I. In addition to dismissing Rachin Ravindra, he also removed the in-form Glenn Phillips for 19 off 13. For the Kiwis, none of the top-order batters could make a substantial impact, except Ravindra.

Openers Devon Conway and Tim Seifert fell for 19 (9) and 24 (13), respectively, while Daryl Mitchell managed 18 off 11 deliveries. At the time of reporting, New Zealand were 155/5 after 16 overs, with captain Mitchell Santner and Mark Chapman at the crease.

India, led by Suryakumar Yadav, had secured a 48-run win in the series opener, taking a 1-0 lead in the five-match T20I series. In that opening match, World No.1 T20I batter Abhishek Sharma starred with 84 off 35 balls.

The Men in Blue will aim to maintain their winning momentum, continuing the streak they built since the 2024 T20 World Cup.
