The third T20I between South Africa and India played out just like the previous matches in the series. India batted first, setting a target for their opponents, but South Africa made it look easy as they chased it down. This time, unlike the first two games, India managed to put up a solid score of 192/4. However, the home team didn’t falter, comfortably reaching the target with 21 balls to spare, thanks to a stunning century from skipper Laura Wolvaardt.

With the pitch covered before the match, Wolvaardt had no second thoughts about bowling first again. But Smriti Mandhana quickly eased any worries of a slow start by smashing the very first ball of the match for a boundary.

Shafali Verma got into her groove with a couple of boundaries in the next over before executing a perfect slogsweep. The opening pair put on 51 runs during the Powerplay, but a double strike saw them lose both Mandhana and Jemimah Rodrigues in quick succession.

Shafali, who had slowed down a bit, picked up the pace again to reach a commendable half-century. Skipper Harmanpreet Kaur wasted no time getting into her rhythm at the other end and was well set as they approached the death overs.

Even though India lost Shafali at a crucial moment, Harmanpreet kept finding the boundary and also reached her fifty. Richa Ghosh hit a four and a six in the penultimate over, while Harmanpreet cleared the ropes twice in the final over, pushing India past the 190-run mark. But the visitors quickly realized they were in for a challenge when South Africa raced to 26/0 after just two overs.

Shafali Verma’s quick fifty and Harmanpreet Kaur’s rapid half-century helped India surpass 190, with Richa Ghosh adding some late boundaries. In response, Laura Wolvaardt took charge with a blistering 23-ball fifty, supported by Sune Luus. South Africa surged to 115/0 in just 10 overs, firmly taking control and leaving India struggling to keep up.
