After suffering two back-to-back defeats, the Rajasthan Royals (RR) bounced back in style, clinching a solid 40-run victory against the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in Match 32 of the 2026 Indian Premier League (IPL). This win propels the 2008 champions up to second place in the standings.
Put in to bat by the home team, RR managed to post a total of 159, largely thanks to a late flurry from Ravindra Jadeja, who smashed 20 runs in the final over bowled by Mayank Yadav. The Royals really needed that late surge after a shaky start, where Yashasvi Jaiswal, Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, and Dhruv Jurel all fell victim to the bowling within the first four overs.
In response, LSG struggled to keep their wickets intact, ultimately falling 40 runs short of the target. Mitchell Marsh stood out for the hosts, scoring 55 runs off 41 balls, which also marked a milestone as he crossed the 1,500-run mark in his IPL career.

Unfortunately for him, he didn’t receive much support from his teammates, and once he was out, LSG crumbled like a house of cards. Jofra Archer was the star with the ball, taking three wickets while maintaining an impressive economy rate of five.
As with every IPL match this season, the clash between LSG and RR featured a mix of personal and team milestones for players on both sides. However, not all milestones were positive; Nicholas Pooran from the Super Giants found himself on the wrong end of an unfortunate record.
