India vs Pakistan matches are marred by controversy more often than not. In the ICC Women’s World Cup 2025, the toss error took center stage. India captain Harmanpreet Kaur spun the coin and Pakistan skipper called tails. However, Mel Jones, who was the presenter, called heads.

Shandre Fritz, the ICC Match Referee, didn’t realize that a mistake had been made and awarded the toss to the Men in Green despite the error. Fatima invited India to bat first.

“We are bowling first as there is moisture on the wicket, and hopefully we will perform better against India. Anything under 250 runs could be a good chase,” Pakistan skipper Fatima Sana said.

“We have a good series here before the World Cup, and it is important to think positively. Amanjot is unwell, and Ranuka Singh Thakur has taken her place. We are looking forward to the match,” Harmanpreet Kaur said.

India defeated Sri Lanka by 59 runs in their opening match of the global tournament. On the other hand, Pakistan lost to Bangladesh.
