Former Pakistani pacer Mohammad Amir is set for a return to cricket as he begins life as a local player. The 34-year-old will be seen playing for Notts Outlaws as a British Citizen. It is to be noted that the left-arm pacer is married to Narjis Khatun, who is a UK citizen, which enabled the cricketer to get his citizenship.
The Nottinghamshire-based side is currently tenth in the points table. They began their season with three successive losses before winning the next three games. On Friday, the Outlaws play their next game against Kent, who are placed above them in the ninth spot.

After joining his new side, Amir expressed happiness and said, “Really excited to join the side. Have heard good things about the team and really looking forward to it. Have lots of happy memories at Trent Bridge. T20 is all about entertaining the crowds, and I will do my best for the side to make the fans happy.”
The Club also put out a short statement, which read “As a British passport holder, Amir will not be counted as an overseas player for the duration of his stay at Trent Bridge, which includes any potential matches the Notts might play.” After the game on Friday, Notts still have six games left in the season.
Notts’ coach Peter Moores is looking forward to his association with the left-arm seamer once more. Both had worked together for Karachi Kings during the Pakistan Super League a few years ago.
Former England coach said, “This is not the first time I’ve been lucky enough to work with Amir. Our paths crossed in the PSL when I coached Karachi. Unfortunately, then he picked up an injury, which cut his tournament short, so I’m hoping for better luck this time.”
The player has been part of Essex, Derbyshire, and Gloucestershire before this and played 45 games, picking 54 wickets. Amir last played international cricket in 2024, where he was part of the Pakistan side. After a disappointing World Cup that year, he hung up his boots for good.
