Former India player Mahendra Singh Dhoni has been fined INR 1000 for overspeeding in Ranchi. A challan was issued under Section 183 of the Motor Vehicles Act after the speed violation was recorded near his house. The traffic monitoring system found that the vehicle exceeded the permitted speed limit, following which an e-challan was issued. The offence is minor but the involvement of Dhoni has drawn attention among fans.

Earlier, the most successful Indian skipper was issued a notice by the Jharkhand State Housing Board for misuse of the residential plot. The authorities think that the residential property is being used for commercial activity.

Meanwhile, Dhoni has started preparation for the Indian Premier League 2026, where he will represent the Chennai Super Kings.

The five-time champions finished last in the previous season of the IPL, with 10 defeats and just four wins.

Dhoni was retained as an uncapped player for INR 4 crore. He scored 196 runs in 14 matches at a strike rate of 135.17. He will play a big role, along with captain Ruturaj Gaikwad, in the upcoming campaign.

It is likely to be his last season as the veteran has been battling fitness issues for years. The franchise has added Sanju Samson to the squad, and he will be the main wicket-keeper of the franchise from the new season onwards.
