“Mumbai Indians, Punjab Kings can beat Pakistan”: Irfan Pathan

Former all-rounder Irfan Pathan mocked Pakistan after their crushing defeat against India in the Asia Cup 2025. The Men in Green posted 127/7 in 20 overs in Dubai, and Suryakumar Yadav’s team completed the task in 15.5 overs. Irfan said that IPL franchises can beat Pakistan in T20 cricket.

“If you want to know which of our domestic franchises can beat Pakistan, I think the Mumbai Indians for sure. Punjab Kings can beat them. In fact, a lot of IPL franchises can beat them,” he said on Sony Network.

Former Indian assistant coach Abhishek Nayar called the recently concluded match a practice game.

“Pakistan was not in the contest in all the departments of the game. Their bowling was different as they came with spinners and not many fast bowlers, but it didn’t make a difference in the end. It was like a practice match,” Nayar said.

Former Pakistan pacer Shoaib Akhtar slammed skipper Salman Ali Agha for choosing to bat first against India in the Asia Cup 2025. The pitch at the Dubai International Stadium has been favouring the spinners from the start of the tournament.
