New Zealand will travel to Bangladesh next mont for their white-ball series. The tour will include three One Day Internationals and three T20 International matches.

The series will begin after New Zealand completes their current matches against the South Africa national cricket team. The matches in Bangladesh will also be New Zealand’s first visit to Asia after their recent loss in the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2026 final.

New Zealand will use this tour as their main opportunity to start winning again. The team will gain valuable experience through this tour because it will help them prepare for future tournaments in this region.

India’s historic win in the T20 World Cup final

New Zealand last played international cricket in the final of the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2026 against the India. The match took place at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.

India made history by becoming the first team to win the T20 World Cup on home soil. They won their third T20 World Cup title by defeating New Zealand with a 96-run victory.

India scored 256 runs as their total for the match. Sanju Samson scored 89 runs from 46 balls, while Abhishek Sharma added 52 runs from 21 balls. Ishan Kishan also played a strong knock of 54 runs from 25 balls.

New Zealand struggle during the chase

New Zealand faced difficulties while they pursued the extremely high target. The team lost three wickets inside the powerplay overs. The scoreboard showed 47 runs for three wickets after six overs.

The pressure on the batting side kept increasing throughout the match. The team needed to achieve a high run rate while the batting partners failed to form strong connections.

New Zealand bowled out for 159 runs. India won the match easily by 96 runs.

Jasprit Bumrah took four wickets to help his team win the match. Axar Patel also impressed with three wickets.

Security team visits Dhaka before the tour

A three-member security team from New Zealand has arrived in Dhaka to prepare for the Bangladesh tour. The group reached the city on Wednesday to check the security plans for the upcoming matches.

The officials will check stadiums and hotels and travel routes which the teams will use during their visit. One of the main venues they will visit is the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur.

The security team will complete the tour approval process after they finish the inspection.

Bangladesh currently playing Pakistan

Bangladesh is currently competing against Pakistan in a three-match ODI series. The first match saw the hosts come out strong to begin their series.

Bangladesh won the match against Pakistan by eight wickets to achieve a 1-0 series advantage.
