Oman batted well against India in the last league stage match of the Asia Cup 2025. The opening batters added 56 runs in 8.2 overs, which is only the second instance in the history of T20Is when an associate team added 50-plus runs for the first wicket against India. Afghanistan was the first team to achieve the milestone.
The two opening batters, Jatinder Singh and Aamir Kaleem, were hardly troubled by the rivals, who missed Jasprit Bumrah with the new ball.
Oman captain Jatinder, who scored 32 runs off 33 balls, was dismissed by Kuldeep Yadav, who is in form in the ongoing Continental Cup.
The Indian National Cricket Team have already qualified for the Super Stage and their last match against Oman is a dead-rubber. The Men in Blue changed their batting order to give game time to the willow holders ahead of the match against Pakistan on September 21.
Sanju Samson scored a fifty while Abhishek Sharma, Axar Patel and Tilak Varma were also impressive with the bat. India captain Suryakumar didn’t come out to bat as the team posted 188/9.
