Rohit Sharma has completed 20,000 runs for India in international cricket. The right-handed batter reached the milestone in the third ODI between India and South Africa on December 6. He is the fourth Indian player to reach the landmark after Sachin Tendulkar (34,357), Virat Kohli (27,910), and Rahul Dravid (24,064).
In 505 matches for India, Rohit managed 20,000 runs at an average of 42.46, laced with 50 hundreds and 110 fifties. He hit 1933 fours and 646 sixes in his career so far.
Rohit has been a part of 279 ODIs, scoring 11482 runs at an average of 49.27, including 33 hundreds and 60 fifties.
He retired from Test cricket after playing 67 matches, managing 4301 runs at an average of 40.57. He hit 13 centuries and 18 fifties.
The 38-year-old represented India in 159 T20Is, scoring 4231 runs at an average of 32.05 and a strike rate of 140.89. He hit 5 hundreds and 32 half-centuries.
Rohit is the only batter in the world who has smashed three triple hundreds in one-day internationals.
He has bid adieu to formats and is only active in ODIs. The veteran is targeting the 2027 World Cup in South Africa, Zimbabwe and Namibia. The right-handed batter was named the Player of the Series in the assignment against Australia in October. He struck a hundred and fifty, taking his runs tally to over 200 runs in three matches.
Rohit showed his class in the series opener against South Africa, posting a fifty in India’s win by 17 runs. He has agreed to play in the Vijay Hazare Trophy after the matches against the Proteas to give himself much-needed game time.
