The crown of supremacy has been lifted off Team India’s legendary batter Rohit Sharma today. Recently, after winning the Player of the Tournament award in the ODI series against Australia, Rohit Sharma became the No. 1 batsman in the ICC ODI rankings.
But now, New Zealand’s star all-rounder Daryl Mitchell has overtaken Rohit Sharma to claim the No. 1 spot in the ICC ODI rankings. The Hitman has slipped to the second position.
Daryl Mitchell has 782 rating points, while Rohit Sharma has 781 points — just a one-point difference between the two.
Let us tell you that Mitchell has achieved this milestone at the age of 34. In fact, Mitchell is only the second New Zealand player to reach the top of the ODI batting rankings. Earlier, in 1979, Kiwi batsman Glenn Turner had achieved this feat.
