RCB have handed the head coach’s role to Malolan Rangarajan ahead of the new WPL season. He takes over from Luke Williams, who was at the helm since 2024.
Since the new season starts in early January, Williams will be busy fulfilling his head-coach responsibilities with the Adelaide Strikers in the BBL.
A former Tamil Nadu player, Malolan has been associated with the franchise in several capacities for six years. He spent the last two seasons as the women’s team’s assistant coach.

Smriti Mandhana said about the appointment, “We’ve built a good rapport, and I’ve appreciated our cricket discussions. He had a positive impact on the team for three years, and I’m confident we can work together to help RCB do well this season.”
After winning the WPL title in 2024, RCB fourth position this year.
RCB have also added former England pacer Anya Shrubsole as their new bowling coach. The two-time World Cup winner retired in 2022 with 227 international wickets.
