The ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2026 witnessed Sahibzada Farhan's incredible batting display against Namibia. He delivered a record-breaking performance with the bat at the Sinhalese Sports Club in Colombo by scoring 100 runs off 58 balls.

Farhan is the second Pakistani batter to score a T20 World Cup century with this performance. The first one was Ahmed Shehzad, who scored 111* against Bangladesh in 2014 at Mirpur.

Farhan scored his century with a strike rate of 172.41. His innings consisted of 11 fours and 4 sixes, which he hit with calculated aggression. This innings helped Pakistan score 199 runs for the loss of 3 wickets in 20 overs.

Farhan Anchors the Innings After Early Start

Pakistan captain Salman Agha won the toss and selected to bat first. The team achieved a solid powerplay performance by collecting 47 runs during their initial six overs.

Saim Ayub seemed positive but was out for 14. Zane Green caught him after Jack Brassell threw the ball to him. The captain scored 38 runs in 23 balls soon after but lost his wicket to Brassell.

Farhan kept his calm all through the situation. He built his innings by playing his shots carefully while choosing certain balls to hit. He scored his fifty at the right time while also changing his batting style in the latter overs.

Khawaja Nafay had a very brief time in the middle as he scored just 5 runs. Farhan later paired with Shadab Khan (36*) to add 81 runs off 40 balls.

Farhan reached his hundred in the final over, bringing up the milestone with confidence. Although, the batter lacked some intent at the end, but his contribution is enough for his side to beat Namibia in this encounter.

The bowlers of Namibia showed their utmost effort in the match. Jack Brassell took two wickets while giving away 48 runs. Gerhard Erasmus took one wicket. However, they could not do anything to stop Farhan once he was set.

The team scored 199 runs for the loss of 3 wickets while keeping a run rate of 9.95. The batting display by the team, led by Farhan's historic innings, laid a strong foundation.

The onus is now on the bowlers of Pakistan to defend the target and secure a spot in the Super 8 of T20 World Cup 2026.
