The young Gujarat Titans player Sai Sudharsan participated in an entertaining and enjoyable game when he talked with senior spinner Ravichandran Ashwin on his YouTube channel. Sudharsan needed to create an IPL Playing XI which included only players from the period before the T20 format existed. He required to choose seven Indian players and four international players plus one backup player according to IPL regulations.

The young left-hander built a powerful yet thrilling squad which contained legendary players from the sport.

Kapil Dev Leads a Star-Studded XI

Sudharsan selected India's World Cup winning skipper Kapil Dev as the Captain of his All-Time IPL XI of Pre-T20 legends. The team also included the great Don Bradman, who was placed at number four in the batting order.

Sudharsan selected Kris Srikkanth and Navjot Singh Sidhu as his opening pair because they provided both aggressive batting and steady performance. At number three, he picked wicketkeeper Farokh Engineer.

The middle order had strong all-round options. The team included former India coach Ravi Shastri and South Africa’s strong hitter Lance Klusener and Kapil Dev as its main players.

The bowling attack looked dangerous on paper. Sudharsan selected Pakistan great Wasim Akram, Australia’s fast bowler Jeff Thomson, and India’s accurate seamer Venkatesh Prasad. The legendary Bishan Singh Bedi handled the responsibilities of the spin department. He kept Robin Singh to serve as his replacement player.

Sudharsan showed his dedication to cricket by creating an XI which honored historical players while also showing him how to construct a balanced team.

Sudharsan Returns to Training Ahead of IPL 2026

The selection of the dream XI served as a light-hearted activity but Sudharsan now dedicates his efforts to prepare for the IPL season. He had suffered a right rib fracture during the Vijay Hazare Trophy, which raised concerns about his fitness. He has now started training again.

In domestic cricket, he achieved success in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy where he scored 192 runs with a strike rate of 152.38. He has been observed training at the Gujarat Titans camp together with captain Shubman Gill.

After a successful domestic season, Gujarat Titans will count on Sudharsan to provide them with fast scoring at the beginning of innings as they pursue their IPL championship victory in 2026.
