Tilak Varma pulled off a stunning catch near the boundary as Shivam Dube claimed the crucial wicket of Tim David during the third T20I between India and Australia in Hobart on Sunday, November 2. David played a blistering knock of 74 runs from just 38 balls, striking at 194.74 with eight fours and five sixes.
The breakthrough came on the final delivery of the 13th over in Australia’s innings. After being hit for two sixes earlier in the over, Dube delivered a fuller ball on middle stump. David attempted to loft it straight down the ground but ended up flat-batting it. Varma timed his move perfectly, taking a clean catch just inside the boundary at long-off without stepping over the ropes.

A composed batting effort from Tim David and Marcus Stoinis guided Australia to 186/6 against India in the third T20I. Stoinis struck a fluent 64 off 39 balls with eight fours and two sixes, while David played a crucial hand alongside him. Matthew Short provided a late flourish with an unbeaten 26 off 15 deliveries.
However, the top order faltered as Travis Head (6 off 4) and captain Mitchell Marsh (11 off 14) fell cheaply. Josh Inglis (1) and Mitchell Owen (0) also struggled to make an impact. For India, Arshdeep Singh led the bowling attack with an impressive 3/35, while Varun Chakaravarthy picked up two wickets.
Australia currently lead the five-match series 1-0 after winning the second T20I by four wickets in Melbourne while chasing 126. The first match was washed out due to rain. Suryakumar Yadav’s side will now look to bounce back and level the series, aiming to maintain their unbeaten streak in bilateral T20I series since their 2024 T20 World Cup triumph.
