“Hunger And Fitness Key For 2027 ODI Hopefuls”– Ravi Shastri

Former India head coach Ravi Shastri believes that consistent run-scoring and maintaining high fitness levels will be crucial for the senior batters if they aim to be part of India’s squad for the 2027 ODI World Cup.

“It depends how hungry you are, how fit you are, whether that passion for the game is still there. With their experience, it’ll come in very handy,” Shastri said. “I would say take it one series at a time. It’s still a long way to go.”

“Hopefully, if they have a good one here (Australia), that should keep them in a good state of mind, thinking of South Africa. If they’re not enjoying it, if the form is not good, they might pull the plug themselves,” he added.
