The wedding of Indian cricketer Smriti Mandhana and Palash Muchhal has been postponed without a new date. They were preparing to get married on Sunday, November 23, but her father’s sudden illness and subsequent hospitalization resulted in the unexpected delay.
According to Smriti Mandhana’s manager, Tuhin Mishra, her father became unwell and was taken to the hospital earlier in the day, where doctors are keeping him under observation. He also mentioned that Smriti has decided to push back the wedding until her father recovers.

Smriti and Palash have shared a long relationship, and Palash chose the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai as the place to propose her. Coincidentally, this is the venue where India triumphed over South Africa in the final to secure the Women’s World Cup title in 2025.
“Smriti Mandhana’s father began feeling unwell this morning while having breakfast. We waited for some time hoping his condition would improve, but it continued to worsen. To avoid taking any chances, we called an ambulance and he was taken to the hospital, where he is currently being monitored. Smriti is extremely attached to her father, so she has chosen to postpone the wedding indefinitely until his health stabilizes,” her manager stated.
“The doctors have informed us that he will need to remain hospitalized. We are all stunned by the situation and are hoping for his quick and full recovery, especially with such an important event ahead. As mentioned earlier, Smriti is firm about prioritizing her father’s recovery, and the wedding will be held only afterward. For now, it has been postponed indefinitely,” he added.
Smriti Mandhana’s wedding was attended by her fellow cricketers, including Radha Yadav, Jemimah Rodrigues, Shreyanka Patil, and Arundhati Reddy.
