The full schedule for the 2026 T20 World Cup has just been released by the International Cricket Council, and cricket fans can now start planning their time off. This famous tournament is going to take place in India and Sri Lanka and will be huge. The announcement of the tournament was accompanied by a gala event attended by ICC chief Jay Shah and Indian cricket legends such as Rohit Sharma, Harmanpreet Kaur, and Suryakumar Yadav, the captain, among others. The atmosphere was very lively!
However, one thing that really stood out among all the discussions was that as soon as SKY appeared on stage, he was put forward with a hot question: who would he like to meet in the final? The Indian captain’s response was amazing! His selection gave a hint of who among India’s leadership is considered to be the strongest contender in the tournament. This situation was like a window that showed India’s perspective on its rivals and the hurdles they are willing to overcome to win the world championship once more.
Rohit Sharma, the ex-captain, has been appointed as the new ICC brand ambassador for the T20 World Cup. The interesting thing about him is that he has been a part of both the title-winning squads of Team India, whether it is 2007 or 2024. Furthermore, he was the first-ever cricketer to be given the title of brand ambassador while still being an active cricketer.
On the other hand, India is placed in Group A along with Pakistan, Namibia, the Netherlands, and the USA. The campaign of India will start on February 7 against the USA, followed by a match against Namibia in New Delhi. The eagerly awaited clash with Pakistan will take place on February 15 in Colombo.
India’s last group-stage match will be against the Netherlands on February 18 in Ahmedabad.
