India’s flamboyant T20I captain Suryakumar Yadav once again showcased his incredible power-hitting ability by achieving a remarkable world record in international cricket. During the first T20I clash against Australia in Canberra on October 29, the star batter became the fifth cricketer in the world to smash 150 sixes in T20 internationals.

Known for his innovative stroke play and fearless approach, Suryakumar reached this milestone in a style that reflects his dynamic batting persona. His performance added yet another prestigious achievement to his illustrious T20 career, reinforcing his reputation as one of the most destructive batters in modern-day cricket.

Elite List Of Six-Hitters In T20I Cricket

By reaching the 150s mark, Suryakumar Yadav joined an exclusive group of global power-hitters who have left a significant impact in the shortest format of the game. The elite list features some of the biggest names in world cricket—Rohit Sharma, who tops the chart with 205 sixes;  of UAE, who has smashed 187; New Zealand’s Martin Guptill with 173; and England’s Jos Buttler with 172.

With his latest achievement, Suryakumar became only the second Indian to join this prestigious list, following in the footsteps of Rohit Sharma. This record further highlights India’s strong presence in T20I batting history, with two of its players ranking among the most powerful hitters across formats. Suryakumar’s accomplishment underlines his growing influence as a match-winner and a consistent performer in the global arena.

Fastest Among Full-Member Nations To Reach the Mark

What makes Suryakumar Yadav’s feat even more exceptional is the speed with which he reached this milestone. He became the first player from a full ICC member nation to hammer 150 T20I sixes in fewer than 100 innings, achieving the landmark in his 91st innings. This efficiency underscores his dominance and consistency as a top-order batter capable of turning games single-handedly.

The only player ahead of him in terms of speed is Muhammad Waseem from the UAE, who reached the same mark in just 66 innings. While Waseem’s record stands unmatched among associate nations, Suryakumar’s achievement carries significant weight, given the level of competition and quality of bowling attacks he has faced. With this record, Suryakumar Yadav not only strengthened his position as India’s premier T20 batter but also further cemented his legacy as one of the most explosive and entertaining players in the history of the format.
