Annabel Sutherland’s all-round display handed Northern Superchargers their maiden title at the Women’s Hundred 2025, tarnishing Southern Brave’s near-perfect run with an emphatic seven-wicket win in the rain-affected final at the Lord’s.

Brave could manage a mere 115/6 after losing wickets in heaps, in which Sutherland prised out both the top-scorers and Kate Cross dealt the early blows – both finishing with matching figures of 2-23. The Australian later resurrected the innings with the bat in hand, constructing a match-winning partnership of 60 off 44 balls with compatriot Nicola Carey to seal a comfortable chase.

Bowling first, Superchargers retaliated via the twin strikes of Cross after a brief assault from the Brave openers. Maia Bouchier bashed a four and a six in her cameo before Cross saw her back, and then cleaned up Laura Wolvaardt for a golden duck.

Wyatt-Hodge (25 of 20) linked up with Sophie Devine (23 off 28) to weather the storm before Sutherland provided the breakthrough with the wicket of the English opener. Devine, albeit rusty, produced the best partnership of the day for Brave along with Freya Kemp, who scored a valuable 26 in 17 deliveries before becoming Sutherland’s second victim.

Another mini-implosion pegged them back towards the end, and if not for Mady Villiers’ ebullient 17*, Brave could have potentially been restricted to double-digits.

Fresh off the fastest century in the competition, Davina Perrin made almost a run-a-ball 17 as Devine drew early blood. At the other end, Villliers sent back Alice Davidson-Richards cheaply before rain played spoilsport. On the other side, Chloe Tryon produced a wicket in her very first set to end season MVP Phoebe Litchfield’s knock of 26 that came at an impressive strike-rate of 200.

Reduced to 59/3 in 44 balls, Sutherland and Carey kept Superchargers in the hunt with their 60-run stand. Carey kicked up a gear, hitting four boundaries in the space of eight deliveries she faced. Sutherland applied the finishing touches, winning it for her team with a maximum with 12 balls left in the stipulated hundred.
