Shimron Hetmyer is on fire for the West Indies against Zimbabwe in their Super 8 match of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026. Playing at Mumbai’s Wankhede Stadium, the 29-year-old left-handed batsman from Guyana marked a remarkable half-century in just 19 balls for the Men in Maroon. He achieved the feat in style, hitting a six off Sikandar Raza on the fifth delivery of the eighth over of the innings.
Hetmyer’s 19-ball half-century in Mumbai has seen him surpass his own record for the fastest fifty by a West Indies batter in an ICC Men’s T20 World Cup match.
In the West Indies’ opening Group C game of the T20 World Cup 2026, Hetmyer had earlier smashed a 22-ball half-century against Scotland in Kolkata on February 7.
