The final One-Day Cup match has been rescheduled to a new date in order for Tasmania to host the match at Ninja Stadium in Hobart. This was done due to the original date clashing with the Australia-India ODI series.
The final, which will determine the winner of the Dean Jones Trophy, was initially supposed to take place on February 28. However, it will now take place on March 11.
Tasmania's opportunity to hold their final at their home ground had been uncertain, with consideration given to the Australia–India ODI series. There are two fixtures scheduled for Hobart on February 27 and March 1.
Originally, the match scheduled for March 1 was meant to be played in Melbourne, but it had to be moved since the new floodlights installed at the Junction Oval were not expected to be ready before then, leading to a squeeze in the fixtures at Hobart.
Considering that there were two international games that were to happen just a short time apart in Hobart, the venue was not available on the intervening day to host the domestic final. Before finally deciding on this course of action, there were several other alternatives.
Tasmania has already secured the right to host the final with two games of the regular season still to be played, going by their five consecutive victories in the tournament's opening five games. The Islanders may have lost by only one wicket to Western Australia this past week, but they are well placed and cannot be caught at the top of the table.
There is currently a close contest for the other final position, with only four points separating second-placed New South Wales and fifth-placed South Australia going into the last round on February 21.

The rescheduled One-Day Cup final will take place between rounds nine and ten in the Sheffield Shield calendar. Tasmania is also in the running to reach this final and will enter it with a significant advantage, as their entire domestic campaign culminating in this period will be played at home, with their final three Sheffield Shield matches to be played in Hobart.
Cricket Australia's Head of Cricket Operations and Scheduling, Peter Roach, said:
"We are delighted that, despite a scheduling clash, we have been able to work closely with our partners to ensure Tasmania will host the Final at Ninja Stadium in Hobart following their dominant season and first-place finish on the table."
