Rishabh Pant, the Lucknow Super Giants captain, had a very short-lived innings despite being a brave heart tonight, with most of the credit going to Phil Salt at square leg. Notably, Royal Challengers Bengaluru is hosting the Lucknow Super Giants team today at the Chinnaswamy Stadium.

Rishabh had to walk back to the dugout after a ball from Jos Hazlewood hit his left elbow. After a mild treatment on the field, he was forced to walk out clearly suffering from the pain. Nicholas Pooran walked in, who couldn't survive either. Lucknow was 5 down when Rishabh decided to walk out, willing to give company to Mukul Choudhary.

Mukul has been running pretty hard, stealing runs in between the wickets. Rishabh was rightly supporting him before deciding to take over Bhuvneshwar Kumar in the 17th over. Bhivi dipped a low full toss angling across the off stump. Rishabh, looking for an aerial pass across the leg side, tried to whip it. Salt, who was initially at the deep wicket, ran hard chasing the ball in the front. Salt initially had a run angled inclining towards his left before he ran rightward and gave a full dive, completing the catch.

Rasikh, Bhuvneshwar restrict LSG to 146

Lucknow Super Giants posted a below-par 146 in 20 overs, undone by a disciplined bowling display and a middle-order collapse. Mitchell Marsh top-scored with 40 off 32, while Ayush Badoni’s 38 off 24 and Mukul Choudhary’s 39 off 28 gave the innings some late respectability. However, quick dismissals of Rishabh Pant (1), Nicholas Pooran (1), and Abdul Samad (0) left LSG struggling at multiple phases.

The key damage came from Rasikh Salam, who starred with 4/24 in four overs, striking at crucial moments to derail any recovery. Bhuvneshwar Kumar complemented him brilliantly with 3/27, including back-to-back wickets in the 19th over, while Josh Hazlewood chipped in with 1/20 at an economy of 5.00. LSG lost four wickets for just 28 runs at the death, eventually being bowled out on the final ball, leaving the opposition a target of 147.
