India produced a dazzling batting display in their Super Fours game against Sri Lanka, achieving the first 200-plus total of the current Asia Cup 2025. Abhishek Sharma again performed the anchor role, putting India on a flying start with yet another fiftyhis third successive fifty in the tournament.
Together with Suryakumar Yadav, he made sure the pace remained high, with the two contributing a crucial 50+ stand before both of them fell just after the powerplay. The innings never slowed down however, with Sanju Samson and Tilak Varma joining to keep the runs flowing.
Their combination further steadied India's ship, registering another important 50+ stand and laying the groundwork for the finish. Tilak remained steadfast until the end, as Axar Patel contributed a crisp cameo that took India over the 200-run mark. Sri Lanka's fielding was as sharp as it can be, but their bowling lacked intensity, and they were left with a massive task in the run chase.
