Delhi replied with 197-5, winning with four balls to spare. It was Rajasthan’s third straight defeat.

Openers Abishek Porel (51) and Lokesh Rahul (56) led the successful chase with a 105-run opening stand in 10.1 overs, with Axar Patel’s 18-ball 34 not out finishing things off.

The batting collapse of Rajasthan in the death overs was the turning point of the match. From 161 for 3 in 14.2 overs, RR were restricted to 191 for 8 in 20 overs. Apart from Vaibhav Sooryavanshi (46 off 21), Jurel (53 off 40) and Parag (51 off 26), none of the batters showed intent. The home franchise easily overhauled the below-par score on a batting-friendly wicket. 

What This Result Means for IPL 2026

Both teams are still alive in the playoff race. Delhi have 12 points from 13 games and a win would take them to 14, and if the results of other teams go their way, the Capitals could compete in the next round. For RR, the equation is simple but challenging. After 12 games, they have secured 12 points, and a win in their remaining two contests would take their tally to 16, a mark which seems realistic as far as playoff qualification is concerned. However, the Rajasthan Royals are struggling to meet the pace of the top teams in the 19th season and going past the rivals looks tough at the moment.
