“You just need to go for the kill”: Shoaib Akhtar gives important message to Pakistan for Asia Cup Final against India

India and Pakistan have qualified for the final of the Asia Cup 2025. India defeated Pakistan in the previous two matches in the ongoing Continental Cup. While India are the favourites for the finale, Pakistan’s legendary pacer Shoaib Akhtar has given a suggestion to the Men in Green.

He urged the Pakistan players to break the aura of Team India. “Don’t be bothered by their aura. Break their aura. Just play the way you did against Bangladesh. You need that kind of mindset. You just need to take wickets,” Akhtar said on the ‘Game On Hai’ show.

Akhtar wants Pakistan to keep an eye on Abhishek Sharma, who has been sensational so far.

“If Abhishek gets out in the first two overs, India will be in trouble. He is giving them good starts, but if he is dismissed early on, India will struggle. Abhishek will mistime the ball, and you need to go for the kill. If you play hard cricket, India will have to work hard for runs,” he added.

“Gambhir will tell his players that Pakistan play best cricket once they reach the final and they know how to win the finals,” he concluded.
