Beau Greaves has been racing through the darts world like a whirlwind in recent months. The 21-year-old Englishwoman is currently leading the PDC Women's Series, Development Tour and Challenge Tour. Last weekend she also made a special impression at the 2025 UK Open by reaching the fourth round, where she eventually lost 10-7 to world number one Luke Humphries.
Greaves also ventured her chance at PDC Q-School early this year, but narrowly missed out on securing a PDC Tour Card for the first time in her career. In the past, 'Beau 'n' Arrow' has always prioritized the WDF Women's World Championship at Lakeside Country Club, but could this now be the year that the ladies' dominant force makes a triumphant return to the PDC World Darts Championship at the Alexandra Palace?
The PDC always let it be known in the past that players cannot play at both World Championships, forcing a choice to be made for the players lucky enough to qualify for both. As mentioned, Greaves has consistently opted for the Lakeside in recent years. But Greaves, who is already qualified for Lakeside, has the possibility to qualify for the PDC World Darts Championship on multiple different fronts this year.
"A lot of people say Beau has a big decision to make, but I think the PDC has a big decision to make. They're the ones that are ultimately saying she can't play," says former WDF referee and board member Richard Ashdown on Sky Sports' Love the Darts podcast. "I'd really like this to be looked at, because I don't think it needs to go one forever."
"Going to the Lakeside for the Women's World Championship is a very different thing from the PDC World Championship at the Alexandra Palace," Ashdown continues. "There's allowances that could be make to let her play in both."
Aa such, Ashdown is hoping that common sense prevails. "The PDC are not afraid of making changes or making big decisions. So it wouldn't surprise me," he concludes. "She should be playing, that's the thing. I really hope she's there, it'll be amazing."
