Classy Cameron Menzies wins second Players Championship title with Wright win

Cameron Menzies wins his second players championship title at event eleven in Leicester on Tuesday evening. Cammy was too much for Wright, beating him 8-3 in the final after coming so close so many times already this year.

The match started with back-to-back breaks, 13 darter in leg one from Wright and 18 in leg two from Menzies to level at 1-1. Menzies got the first hold of throw to lead 2-1, before checking out 100 for an eleven dart break of throw to lead 3-1. Menzies then held in twelve darts to lead 4-1, with an impressive 146 checkout to do so.

Cammy then checked out 87 for another eleven dart leg, leading 5-1 and bringing his average up to 109. The quality didn't drop from there, with another four visit leg, but this time from Peter Wright. Snakebite checked out 84 for a 12 darter to bring it back to 5-2. Wright held in 14 to bring it to 5-3, before Menzies stopped the small comeback, leading 6-3 with a thirteen dart hold.

Menzies broke Wright to go one away from the title, before checking out 10 for the match.
