Daughter of Peter Wright reunited 'Snakebite' with wife Joanne after 13-year breakup: 'She’d been looking for him and searching for him'

Peter Wright has been one of the most familiar faces in darts for many years. His wife Joanne, meanwhile, is also well known as the woman behind "Snakebite" his remarkable but distinctive hairstyle. Yet in the early years, their relationship was far from smooth and their daughter Naomi was decisive in the revival of their relationship.

The "power couple" recently revealed about what is the reason behind their successful relationship after they broke up as recently as 1993 following the birth of their daughter Naomi.

After their breakup, Naomi decided just under a decade later that she wanted to get in touch with her father. As a result, Joanne decided to look up Wright through the PDC's website and then unexpectedly knocked on his door.

The couple got back together since then and the career of 'Snakebite' got a boost from then on. Their daughter Naomi came up with the idea at the time in 2005 to take the stage with a colored mohican by default.

And so it happened, since then Joanne has come up with the craziest styles and stood by Wright's side as a manager during his rise to the top. The Scot emerged as one of the most famous and recognizable players in the history of darts.

In the podcast Tops and Tales, Joanne revealed, “So when I was 18 and Peter was 22, we worked in a holiday camp in Lowestoft called Gunton Hall. That’s part of Warners. I was a waitress and Peter worked in the kitchen.

“I found him sitting under a tree when I came out from work one day, kind of waiting for me. We had our first daughter in 1993 and then we split up for 13 years. Well, we kind of had like three on-and-off relationships back then.

“We had no contact, nothing. I found him when the daughter was nine on her laptop, she’d been looking for him and searching for him. I thought, well, I better go and find him before she did, just in case he doesn’t want to see her and stuff. But it took me four years to find him. When I did find him, I had my own salon by then.

Also though it saw Joanne have a now or never moment and thankfully for her and their daughter, it worked out for the best from there.

"So I was sitting in the salon and I found profiles from the PDC, a picture of him on there and then there was like some details on, a couple of telephone numbers.

“I found the first one, no luck, found the second one, which was actually someone in the PDC office at the time, deleting all the old profiles... he was one of them. So if I hadn’t have found him on there that night, I wouldn’t have found him.

“So from there, the lady from the PDC, don’t even know what her name is or who she was, gave me his last known address. I went and knocked on the door. And I’m guessing, if you don’t mind me saying, Peter, that was probably the last thing you were expecting." to which he responded that it was.

There was also the fact that both were in relationships and ditched their respective partners to find true love with each other.

“Well, there was big confusion to go with it all because I was married and Peter had a girlfriend. And a month later, I had no husband and Peter had a new girlfriend - me."
