'Dominican Republic, here we come!' - Nathan Aspinall goes on family holiday instead of World Series of Darts duty

The past World Matchplay was not a success for Nathan Aspinall. The 34-year-old Englishman went down 10-6 against Wessel Nijman in the opening round and made a huge plunge in the world rankings. Aspinall won the 2023 World Matchplay and thus had a particularly large amount of prize money to defend in Blackpool this year. His quick elimination dropped Aspinall to 23rd in the world rankings.

Vacations instead of World Series tournaments

'The Asp,' who did appear at a number of World Series of Darts tournaments earlier this year, is not making the trip to Oceania for the Australian Darts Masters and the New Zealand Darts Masters.

Aspinall is taking advantage of the freed up time to take a vacation with his family. "Dominican Republic, here we come," he announced via Instagram. On vacation, Aspinall wants to recharge his batteries for the busy months ahead. After all, several majors are still scheduled in the autumn, which Aspinall has his sights set on.
