The WSD have confirmed the draw for the World Seniors Darts Matchplay which will take place on Saturday, Nov. 15. A total of 12 darters will compete in this daylong event.

They will compete for the overall victory in the town of Epsom at the racecourse. The draw produced an attractive match between Mervyn King and Martin Adams, who met regularly on the BDO circuit at the turn of the century. They will battle it out between them to see who will face Robert Thornton in the last eight.

Leading the lineup is Ross Montgomery. The Scot is the reigning senior world champion and also won the Champion of Champions tournament earlier this year. Montgomery begins his tournament against the winner from the match between Neil Duff and Richie Burnett.

There is also a showdown between Trina Gulliver and Leonard Gates in the first round. The one who comes through this match will face Richie Howson in the quarterfinals of this tournament.

Vincent van der Voort will finally make his WSD debut at the World Seniors Darts Matchplay. 'Fast Vinnie' was previously scheduled to compete at the senior World Championship, but had to cancel due to a foot injury.

Van der Voort was paired with Steve Beaton in the draw for this tournament, who, like the Dutchman, has not held a PDC Tour Card since 2025. The winner of the duel between Van der Voort and Beaton will play in the quarterfinals against former senior world champion John Henderson, who has a bye in the first round.

It is the fourth time the World Seniors Darts Matchplay has taken place. Robert Thornton crowned himself the first winner in 2022 by defeating Phil Taylor 12-10. A year later, the title went to Leonard Gates, who held off Jim McEwan 9-6. John Henderson is the defending champion. He was too strong for Gates 9-6 in the final during the 2024 edition.
