Gary Anderson one of two last minute withdrawals from Players Championship 13 in Rosmalen

Players Championship 13 is on the menu for darts fans this afternoon, hailing from Rosmalen in the Netherlands. After the reveal of the draw for the tournament just now though, there were a couple of notable names missing from the initial entry list.

Most notable of the last minute absentees is the two-time former champion of the world, 'The Flying Scotsman' Gary Anderson. The legendary Scot has already shown good form on the Pro Tour in 2025, but it now seems that won't be carrying on this Monday afternoon. The other late removal from the field of participants is also a Scot as William Borland joins his compatriot in withdrawing.

The reasons behind their decision aren't clear just yet but has been confirmed that Andreas Harrysson and Alexander Merkx are the two lucky players called up as replacements.

Other notable Tour Card holders who had already confirmed themselves missing from the action include Stephen Bunting, Rob Cross, Joe Cullen, Luke Humphries, Ryan Joyce, and Luke Littler. Also sitting out are Brett Claydon, Adam Paxton, Tim Wolters, and Jules van Dongen.

There is nevertheless still a slew of big name stars including most notably, Michael van Gerwen and Gerwyn Price. Other big names confirmed to play include Dave Chisnall, Ryan Searle, Michael Smith, James Wade, and Peter Wright.
