Gerwyn Price will not take to the oche on Sunday night at the Hungarian Darts Trophy with 'The Iceman' having to suddenly withdraw from the tournament minutes before he was due to face Luke Littler in Budapest.
Chris Dobey v Danny Noppert are currently on the oche for their first Quarter-Final at the Hungarian Darts Trophy but the winner will go straight through to face Luke Littler in the first semi-final with 'The Iceman' deciding to not play at short notice meaning that Littler receives a bye.
This means too we will only get three Quarter-Finals with James Wade v Josh Rock and Niko Springer v Luke Humphries to follow. The winners will face each other.
Dan Dawson had to be the bearer of bad news to the rabid crowd inside the MVM Dome in Budapest and said that he withdrew only minutes ago. It has now been confirmed by the PDC that this is due to medical reasons as to why he is not playing.
Price in recent weeks has struggled with a hand injury albeit he has since returned to form after a stint in hospital which saw him out of some ProTours and a European Tour last month. It is unknown whether it is an issue with his hand once more. But Littler now gets a reprieve and won't play in the highly touted clash.
