Gian van Veen recorded a spectacular performance at the 23rd Players Championship tournament on Wednesday. He threw a nine-darter and recorded an average of over 111.
Van Veen had won against Dominik Gruellich (6-3) and Steve Lennon (6-5) in his first two matches, before facing Ryan Meikle in the last 32. 'GVV The Giant' quickly took a comfortable 3-0 lead.
The Dutchman then started the fourth leg with two 180 scores, before closing the leg with a 141 finish to complete his perfect leg. In the end, Van Veen won the match 6-2 and an average of 111.68 per turn.
