The MODUS Super Series is hosting a Women's Week this week. In it, several top players are competing against each other for the weekly title that brings 5,000 pounds. In addition, the winner will later have the chance to compete against all the weekly winners in Champions Week.
Kirsty Hutchinson secured a spot into Saturday's final night thanks to four wins on Friday. A welcome boost for the 34-year-old who reached the 2022 WDF World Championship Final.
Hutchinson has been around in the darts world for quite some time, but is currently going through a rather difficult period. "I am really struggling, I have got dartitis. My third dart it's a lot to let go of, I dwell on that. Today I didn't let it defeat me and hoped for the best. Do the same again tomorrow."
Enjoyment
"I did have dartitis in the past quite a few years ago but I overcame it by using that fourth dart. So I've brought that back into my game and it makes it feel more comfortable even though it doesn't look it but for me mentally it helped me get over the line."
Hutchinson is already looking ahead to the final night, where she will take on Kirsi Viinikainen and Gemma Hayter for a place in the semifinals. "When I feel like I'm on top and I lose that leg I find it hard to pick myself up and get myself back in the game, today I've come in with a different mindset and it's paid off so I'm happy."
"It depends what mood I'm in, either I'm 100% or nothing. I thought you've got nothing to win, nothing to lose so just go and enjoy it and hope you make it to Saturday. I'll do exactly the same as what I did last night, chilled early night and woke up this morning and try and play good darts."
