Kieran Cleeves/PDC

Krzysztof Ratajski saw off Dave Chisnall in the final of Players Championship 15 in what was a battle of ProTour stalwarts as he sealed the deal for his first title in over two years.

Ratajski let out a huge scream in delight after claiming the win in a big release of exaltation for the Polish Eagle who has not had an easy couple of years.

"See my average 101...really. It was a really good game so I'm so happy I can't imagine," said Ratajski post final.

"It was a difficult time. I had health problems, my darts weren't good. I play good and I lose matches. Today I not play very special. Sometimes it was enough."

"I played and I won so it is very welcome for me. I was 4-1 down in one match, 3-0 in first one. It was a difficult tournament for me and I'm very happy I won."

He had lost seven matches in a row before today so to say it was coming would be a bit of an understatement.

"Many times I play very good. Seven in a row I lost it was very hard for me. It is the darts, every time you play over 100 you can lose even."

While he also puts himself way into position for the World Matchplay and knew in the back of his head that he had a chance to do so by winning the title today.

"In the back of my head, I knew I had a chance to get to the World Matchplay, this is a very big first step towards that. I feel my game is really good, many times I lose with really good average."
