Luke Littler is into the Last 16 at the 2025 UK Open and will go into the draw later this afternoon as he aims to book a Quarter-Final spot. He successfully saw off Jermaine Wattimena in a display that the Dutchman could merely marvel at.
Littler hit a 104 average, eight 180's, a high checkout of 136 ad 66.7% on the outer ring to win 10-4. Wattimena himself didn't even play that badly but was well beaten by the World Champion who continues his run as favourite.
Wattimena started superbly in the tie going 3-2 down at the first interval with both players averaging 103. 'Machine Gun' lived up to his name as he fired on all cylinders with an epic 125 checkout to go one down and show Littler he meant business.
But all this did was spur Littler on even more. Wattimena was still averaging 104 but Littler was truly in brutal form on return from the break going 6-3 up in the end pinning 136 and not giving Wattimena a chance to get on his coat-tails.
It continued as Littler fired in seven perfect darts to kick off leg ten but he had to settle for an 11-darter with Wattimena nowhere close to breaking his throw. It was 7-3 for Littler.
Littler broke to go 8-3 up but Wattimena hit back. He broke back for 8-4 only to see his potential chance of a comeback go up in smoke as Littler found his way into a break back and also a 9-4 lead in the process.
A 92 checkout using two double 18's was a sumptuous end for Littler as Wattimena could merely bow his head as he was on the end of a rout against Littler despite not playing poorly.
