Jimmy van Schie and Laura Turner secure Six Nations Cup success

Jimmy van Schie won the singles tournament at the Six Nations Cup last weekend. Van Schie gave the Netherlands the title by defeating Llew Bevan in the final while Laura Turner won the women's singles for England.

The Six Nations Cup features players from the Netherlands, England, Wales, Scotland, Ireland and Northern Ireland. Van Schie made it to the final by beating Danny Trueman (4-1), Nicky Denoon (4-0), Corne Groeneveld (4-0) and Stephen Rosney (4-1) in succession.

In the final match the Dutchman faced Bevan from Wales. Van Schie got to start the match and the first three legs went with the darts. This was followed by three breaks, two of which were in favor of Van Schie. He finished it off with a 14-darter for a 5-2 victory.

In the women's event, the title fell to Laura Turner who saw off Priscilla Steenbergen in the final. Turner had reached the final by defeating Jacqueline O'Neill (4-1), Katie Sheldon (4-2) and Rhian O'Sullivan (4-3), while Steenbergen picked up wins against Steph Clarke (4-3), Rachel Kingdon (4-2) and Lorraine Hyde (4-1). In an exciting final, Turner outlasted the Dutch ace 5-4.
