The final installment of a midweek Pro Tour triple header takes place in Leicester this afternoon with Players Championship 19. Three notable names however, have been subject to a last minute withdrawal.
The most understandable of the three withdrawals arguably comes in the form of recent World Cup of Darts winner Josh Rock. 'Rocky' has had a very busy few days, full of emotion, and as such, his decision to skip the third and final Players Championship of this week is perhaps not a surprise.
For Ritchie Edhouse however, the decision not to play today is a big shock. The reigning European Championship winner was expected to be present at all three events this week given the fact he is still very much in the fight for a spot at the World Matchplay. In skipping PC19 though, rather than aiming for a deep run to secure a Matchplay return, Edhouse is ultimately giving up the ghost of Blackpool qualification.
Completing the list of withdrawals for Players Championship 19, Dutchman Wesley Plaisier is also absent. In the trios place, the PDC have called up Adam Mould, Tommy Lishman and Nathan Girvan as replacements.
As always, you'll be able to follow all the developments from Players Championship 19 right here, so stay tuned.
