Luke Littler shirts 'sell out quicker than Glastonbury' as Target managing director Garry Plummer assesses effect of 'Littlermania'

Target Darts’ Managing Director Garry Plummer has hailed the soaring popularity of rising star Luke Littler, joking that the latest edition of the teenager’s darts shirt will sell out “quicker than Glastonbury.”

Speaking to talkSPORT at the 2025 Target Sports Fishing Championship, Plummer couldn’t hide his pride in both the commercial and competitive impact of Littler—whose new shirt is already attracting huge demand. “Sell out, okay? You can bet,” Plummer laughed. “Yeah, it's going to be a complete sell out. Sell out quicker than Glastonbury. I think so.”

Plummer was reflecting on another landmark weekend for the Target roster, after Littler and Josh Rock clashed in a high-profile match that highlighted the company’s impressive stable of young talent.

“Luke just keeps delivering, just keeps going forward,” said Plummer. “He keeps pushing boundaries, breaking records, and I think that's what he enjoys. He enjoys that record-breaking as part of what he does. He’s truly amazing—very proud of him. And Josh as well, watching him come along and play Luke was special. He played amazing. But it's great to see them both up there, fighting it out. These young talents that's the future of our game. It really is.”

The event—held in aid of the Willow Foundation—was also a chance for the Target team to come together outside of the professional spotlight.

“Oh, it's brilliant with Bob Wilson and the Willow Foundation. It's amazing,” Plummer said. “Very proud to be a part of it and to have all the boys together—three world champions here. Lorraine Winstanley as well. We don't get to spend enough time together, so it's great to spend a few hours having a bit of fishing, having a bit of fun.”

Blames Cross for poor fishing skills

Despite Plummer’s good humour, his own fortunes on the lake weren’t quite as successful. “I don't want to blame Rob Cross, but I feel I sort of need to,” he joked. “He didn't stay on the ball long enough, so we've got the worst swim again. Come last again. I think it's three or four years we've come last—we always end up in the worst bit!”

It wasn’t just Littler and Rock earning plaudits, though. Plummer was quick to credit Lorraine Winstanley for her role in developing talent across the board, including rising women’s star Paige Pauling, who has already made waves in the JDC.

“Lorraine's amazing with the youth. She spots them, brings them on, supports them. She's always calling them, they call her, asking about bits and pieces, about their throw, or different shafts, flights and stuff. And that’s the good thing we’re doing—bringing them on, just like we did with Luke. Paige is like, wow. She's some player. Really is. She's special.”
