Michael van Gerwen, Peter Wright and Michael Smith have withdrawn from the 2025 Baltic Sea Darts Open. The Dutchman has decided to miss out on the ninth Euro Tour tournament, which will be played from Friday, July 11 to Sunday, July 13.

The withdrawal of 'MvG' follows earlier cancellations for the Players Championship tournaments earlier this week. The former world champion can now fully focus on the World Matchplay, which starts next Saturday, July 19. In addition to Van Gerwen, Peter Wright, Ryan Joyce, Michael Smith and Andrew Gilding have also decided not to travel to Kiel.

Among the players who will fill these empty spots are Richard Veenstra and Kim Huybrechts as well as Mickey Mansell, William O'Connor and Niko Springer who will fill the remaining spots to complete the field.

Martin Schindler also benefits as him and Ryan Searle go straight into the seeded spots as a result.
