Nathan Aspinall headlines trio of late withdrawals from PDC Players Championship 14

The second of a Rosmalen double header on the PDC Pro Tour takes place from 12:00 UK time this Tuesday afternoon. Compared to the lineup from yesterday however, Players Championship 14 can three late withdrawals from the field of participants.

Most notable of the trio of absentees is Nathan Aspinall. At Players Championship 13 on Monday, The Asp continued his recent run of good form, going all the way to the final before losing out 8-6 to Damon Heta with the title on the line.

Dimitri van den Bergh was a last minute withdrawal on Monday, only pulling out after the draw had been made. As had been expected, the Belgian hasn't made his comeback today. Completing the trio of withdrawals, former PDC World Darts Championship semifinalist Scott Williams has also dropped out of the field, with Jimmy van Schie, Jeffrey Sparidaans and Jarno Bottenberg being the lucky trio of replacements.

Other notable Tour Card holders who had already confirmed themselves missing from the action include Stephen Bunting, Rob Cross, Joe Cullen, Luke Humphries, Ryan Joyce, and Luke Littler. Also sitting out are Brett Claydon, Adam Paxton, Tim Wolters, and Jules van Dongen.

There is nevertheless still a slew of big name stars including most notably, Michael van Gerwen and Gerwyn Price. Other big names confirmed to play include Dave Chisnall, Ryan Searle, Michael Smith, James Wade, and Peter Wright.
