The latest edition of the PDC Form Guide has been released, offering a fresh perspective on player performance by focusing solely on recent form. This "alternative world ranking" takes into account only the last 200 legs played by each Tour Card holder — and the results paint a strikingly different picture from the official Order of Merit.
One name stands head and shoulders above the rest: Josh Rock. While the 23-year-old Northern Irishman currently occupies 14th place in the official rankings, his recent form has been nothing short of exceptional. Based on his last 200 legs, Rock tops the list with a stunning average of 101.63 and a doubles success rate of 42.49%.
Rock is one of only two players to maintain a 100+ average across this sample, the other being the ever-reliable Gary Anderson. ‘The Flying Scotsman’ recorded a 100.77 average with a doubles percentage of 43.22%, showcasing his enduring quality. Anderson currently sits just behind Rock in 15th place in the world rankings.
Rounding out the top three is current world number one Luke Humphries. Despite recently admitting to motivation struggles amid a packed playing schedule, ‘Cool Hand Luke’ continues to deliver on the oche, averaging 99.09 with a 39.68% success rate on doubles in his last 200 legs.
Dutch youngster Gian van Veen also features prominently, posting a 98.12 average and an impressive 46.94% on his doubles. The 22-year-old, ranked 23rd in the world, continues to build a reputation as one of the game’s most promising rising stars.
Perhaps the most surprising aspect of this latest Form Guide is the absence of Luke Littler. The teenage sensation and current world number two does not feature among the top performers based on recent legs — a stark contrast to his meteoric rise in the official rankings.
