PDC Order of Merit update: Chris Dobey reaches career-high ranking, while Ryan Searle is close to a top 16 return

Chris Dobey has achieved his highest-ever ranking on the PDC Order of Merit following his triumph at Players Championship 3. The Englishman climbed to eighth place in the world rankings, surpassing Gerwyn Price and Damon Heta. Although the gap between these three players remains minimal, Dobey's recent success has solidified his position among the elite.

Ryan Searle also made significant progress on the world rankings after winning the fourth Players Championship event of the season. His victory propelled him three places up to 18th in the world. On the other hand, Andrew Gilding dropped two spots and now holds the 21st position. 'Goldfinger' faces the risk of slipping further down the rankings as he prepares to defend his UK Open title from two years ago in early March. That triumph had earned him a lucrative prize of £110,000.

Jelle Klaasen made a substantial leap on the PDC Order of Merit after reaching the final at Players Championship 3. The Dutchman climbed an impressive fifteen places in the world rankings.

Before the back-to-back Players Championship events in Rosmalen, Klaasen was ranked 91st. However, his stunning run to the final secured him £10,000 in prize money and lifted him to 76th place. As a former Lakeside champion, this result was crucial for Klaasen, who needs to be in the top 64 by the end of the season to retain his PDC Tour Card.

Wessel Nijman is edging closer to a debut into the top-50 of the world rankings. The Dutchman reached the last sixteen twice in Rosmalen, earning £5,000 in prize money. As a result, he has climbed to 52nd spot on the PDC Order of Merit. Another player who did well was Nick Kenny, who managed to reach a semi-final and a place in the last 16. The Welshman moved up seven spots and now occupies the 57th spot.
