PDC Pro Tour Order of Merit Update: Josh Rock new leader as Luke Littler nearly caught by rising Dutch rival

Josh Rock is the new leader on the PDC Pro Tour Order of Merit. He leads the ranking with £175,000 on which the results of Euro Tour tournaments and Players Championship events over the past 12 months count.

The ranking was led for a long time by Dave Chisnall, but 'Chizzy' recently lost this position to Stephen Bunting. Meanwhile, Chisnall is still second with £169,500, but Bunting has fallen back to fourth place with £158,000.

Martin Schindler is the new number three in the rankings. 'The Wall' shined last weekend in Austria by winning the Austrian Darts Open. With this he earned £30,000, and now stands at £166,000 in the rankings.

Michael van Gerwen dropped to fifth place. At 146,000 pounds, the Dutchman does have a nice margin over his closest pursuers Damon Heta (137,500 pounds) and Ross Smith (137,000 pounds).

Reigning world champion Luke Littler is only number eight with 133,500 pounds. However, 'The Nuke' is hot on the heels of Gian van Veen, who is in a neat ninth place with 132,500 pounds. Luke Humphries closes out the top-10 with 128,500 pounds. Gerwyn Price, winner of two Players Championship tournaments earlier this season, is only fifteenth on the PDC Pro Tour Order of Merit with 112,000 pounds. That puts him further ahead of Ryan Searle, Cameron Menzies, Chris Dobey and Jonny Clayton.

Through the Pro Tour, players can qualify for the televised tournaments. At tournaments such as the World Matchplay and the World Grand Prix, in addition to the top-16 of the world rankings, the sixteen best players of the Pro Tour ranking are also invited. The same applies to Euro Tour tournaments, while the top-32 at Players Championship tournaments have protected status in the draw.
