Players Championship Order of Merit Update: Gerwyn Price takes over lead from Gian van Veen after second title

Gerwyn Price is the new leader on the Players Championship Order of Merit. 'The Iceman' won his second floor title of the season on Monday night, taking over the lead from Gian van Veen.

After nine Players Championship tournaments, Price is on top with 38,500 pounds. Van Veen is right behind with 37,000 pounds, while Chris Dobey is number three with 30,000 pounds. Ryan Searle is fourth with 28,500 pounds, while Joe Cullen is fifth with 28,000 pounds. The top-10 is further completed by Gary Anderson, Martin Schindler, Rob Cross, Ross Smith and Cameron Menzies.

Luke Humphries who seemingly has decided not to play this week is 15th. Luke Littler sits all the way down in 28th after losing early on Monday. Josh Rock, Jonny Clayton and Dave Chisnall only just sit inside the top 40.

While Peter Wright is down in 52nd. Michael van Gerwen, Beau Greaves and Dimitri van den Bergh all have money on their rankings but currently sit just outside the top 64 who will qualify for Minehead.

The Players Championship series continues on April 1 with Players Championship 10 in Leicester where important prize money is again at stake. Playing Players Championship tournaments is the only route for players to grant themselves entry to the Players Championship Finals. At the end of the season, the 64 best players get to compete in the final tournament in Minehead.
