Mark Webster was less than impressed Friday night with the way Luke Littler played against Viktor Tingstrom. 'The Nuke' was one of the PDC top players in action at the opening night of the Nordic Darts Masters in Copenhagen.
It was a rather poor performance by Littler, who did win comfortably 6-3 against his Swedish opponent despite an average of 90.19.
"It was a puzzling display from Littler. Maybe he was frustrated he couldn't get going," Webster analyzed on ITV 4 afterwards. "He will want to play better against Aspinall and will have to, but he won't be overly concerned."
Aspinall had a lot less trouble with his opponent. ''The Asp'' triumphed 6-0 against Danish Tour Card holder Benjamin Reus. "Aspinall was neat and tidy at the end of legs but it was really cruel on Reus, who is still to win a leg here," Webster alluded to the fact that Reus now lost 6-0 in the first round of the Nordic Darts Masters for the fourth consecutive year. "Nathan knows he has a lot to work on ahead of the quarter-finals but his finishing was on point."
About Humphries, Webster was also positive, after "Cool Hand Luke" triumphed with difficulty after a leg-decider against Madars Razma (6-5). "He showed his professionalism in the last leg. Credit to Razma for pushing him but Luke got over the line, with a maximum setting it up."
